I’m the owner and operator of Vanity Box Skin Couture Perth, a Hollywood Regency inspired, appointment only salon that specialises in bespoke face and body treatment sessions. I’ve always been passionate about all things beauty related so it was no surprise I would become a beauty therapist. I love my job! I get to make women feel like a million dollars after they have a treatment. It’s such a joy, I am really lucky, and it’s a dream come true that I now have my own salon! I’d love for you to connect with me on Facebook and visit my website.
Tell us three things about yourself
I’m hard working, driven & very passionate!
What’s been the biggest health challenge you’ve overcome and what did you learn from this experience?
My biggest health challenge has been finding enough time to fit in exercise in my very busy work schedule. This is something I think a lot people have difficulty with! I have overcome this challenge by deciding to cut back on work and fit in some exercise time as its important for me to keep fit and feel good.
What’s your top tip for getting your day off to a great start?
Waking up and having a warm glass of water with a touch of organic apple cider vinegar. It’s meant to flush out the toxins and also give you whiter teeth 🙂
Your brekky usually consists of…
Protein cooked in coconut oil for the good fats and as much greens as possible at least a cup of greens any greens is good!
Which foods do you eat to nourish your body and give you vitality?
I love to eat nuts and anything organic to nourish my body & give it vitality. I love the taste of organic produce!
Why is fitness an important part of your life and do you have an exercise routine?
Fitness is important in my life as I believe you need it to feel & look good. Also in today’s busy world it’s a time where I can just switch of and just zone out for an hour or so.
I have been pole dancing for a few years now and absolutely love it as you get to dance in heels to great music & workout without even realising it as its so much fun! I recommend it for anyone wanting to do a fun cardio & bodyweight based workout. I go to http://www.bobbispolestudio.com.au/ they are the best in the pole dancing world. I’ve found pole dancing to give my body a strong core, flexibility and a great feminine shape 🙂
Your ‘perfect day’ in nutshell would be…
My perfect day would be to wake up and be on holidays! I just love being on holidays as I get to slow down and do things at my own pace. I wish I could go on holiday’s more often, but It’s nice to have something to look forward to 🙂
Describe what motivated you to choose your current business or career path?
What motivated me to start my own business was my passion for the beauty industry & acknowledging that there was no one in Perth that had my concept of bespoke treatments sessions. With my treatments you can book in for a time slot and not have to decide on the spot what you’re going to have on the day, so if you were in the mood to have something else done that day you could. It’s also a great way of booking a treatment for a loved one! You just book them in for a 1-3 hour session and they can choose whatever they like on the day from waxing, facial, hot stone massage or a tan…the choice is theirs!
What business or career challenge have you overcome and what one piece of advice would you like to pass on to others?
It’s a constant challenge to balance working in the salon and finding the time to do the things you also need to do to keep your business running well like marketing & training. I’ve overcome this by realising what’s most important and prioritising my time to meet all the needs of running a busy business. My advice would be to realise what’s important in your business and make sure you spend time doing that and also finding a good balance.
Your favourite book or movie of all time is? And why?
My favourite movie would be the Notebook. It’s just a classic love story and I love a good old love story!!!
And lastly, do you have a recipe you’d like to share with us?
