Nat Kringoudis is a bona fide women’s health revolutionist and fertility fixer with a big heart for natural healthcare. She is a Dr of Chinese Medicine, an author, speaker and the founder and owner of The Pagoda Tree. Nat has stepped up to champion fertility BEFORE it becomes an issue. With the belief of ‘Why wait until it’s broken?’ Nat is helping women in their twenties to lay a gangbuster ‘healthy hormone’ foundation, knowing that this is the way forward in the world of women’s health.
Through her blog, she educates women on the benefits of alternative therapies and nutrition for happy hormones. Nat is also the producer and co-host of the online web series HealthTalks and from time to time you’ve seen her in your favourite glossy mag or appearing as a health expert on your telly. Nat has penned three books – Fertilise Yourself, Eat Fat, Be Thin and Eat Fat, Be Lean. And she tours Australia regularly, holding workshops and speaking at other events to help women get clued up on their bodies and take control of their hormone health.

Digging deeper now, describe your ‘why’ that’s driving you to do what you do…
Because what inspires you is what ignites you – it’s not by chance that I love spreading my happy hormone message, it’s because I wholeheartedly believe every woman has a right to know more about herself and because I equally know this is exactly where I’m meant to be. Inspiring others lights the fire in my belly like nothing else.
Keeping a happy balance between your mind, body and soul is challenging for most of us. How do you prioritise this balance of wellness in your busy life?
Some periods of time are easier than others. It’s important mostly to listen to my body, know what my abilities are and when to push outside the comfort zone and when to stay in. I’m highly motivated and driven which helps a bunch but on the downside it means at times I can push too hard – those are the days I stumble and simply have to surrender to what my body is telling me rather than push against the tide. Children are particularly good at grounding us, as their needs come first – so this helps me to work out my priorities too. Work life balance is key. Oh and I have plenty of helpers which is for me the only way I can do what I do alongside an extremely supportive husband.
You have won $10,000 to spend in one day. The rules are that you can only buy things that will improve your health &/or progress your business…what would you spend it on (go nuts!)?
+ I still don’t have a thermomix – so there goes $2k.
+ Jump in the studio and finish my next e-course. Oops – there goes $10k!
+ I’d take my girlfriends out for lunch somewhere beautiful and enjoy every single mouthful and every single part of the conversation
+ follow that up with an hour or two with my business coach and then back out for more food with a special nutritious dinner with my family
+ I’d take 2 hours out of my day for some time at the day spa
+ all the while I’d have somebody clean out my inbox!! I’d pay them the whole $10k to do that actually!! Organisation is absolutely key in being happy and healthy for me
I think I just spent $20k….
Comparisonitis – we’ve all experienced it either professionally or personally. What are your strategies for dealing with this icky feeling?
Yeah it’s a tough one, but it is all about awareness. When the comparisonitis kicks in, at some point my awareness does too, and I turn the comparison to drive – it drives me harder to be me and be damn good in doing what I do. Reminding myself two things, “I only have to be me, and only me” and “to be me because everybody else is already taken.” I don’t need to be anybody else, I have my own vision and my own message to spread – turns the whole scenario to me going inward and continuing to be just me. It’s really powerful and so effective. Also in the times I find myself comparing, I reinforce in my mind what I love about the person I’m comparing myself to – saying something like “I am inspired by their ability of x y z!”
What’s been your biggest challenge in your online/business journey, and what one piece of advice would you like to pass on to other female entrepreneurs?
Recognising for me that wording is everything and just because I understand what I mean, doesn’t mean everybody else does! Understanding your audience and speaking their language is key. So for me, moving away from the word ‘fertility’ was a game-changer, because people would see the word and run for the freaking hills thinking they didn’t need to hear what I had to say. You’ve 30 seconds to make an impression (if that) so make it count.
Your ‘perfect day’ in a snapshot is…
- Waking without an alarm
- Cuddling my children in bed
- Calmly getting them off to school/care with ease
- Getting STUFF done – meeting a deadline and achieving something awesome gives me so much pleasure!
- Delicious warm dinner with my family followed by cuddling up on the couch and watching the voice!!!!
